Enticing all, model railroad shops sprang up in cities across the country. Today, holiday traditions include everything from a simple circular track under the tree to a train weaving through your Department 56 Village. Train circles above the door.
At the heart of every city is the seat of government, the City Hall. With four impressive pillars sheltering the massive entry doors, this large structure is topped with a coppered dome on the clock tower.
The Woolworth Building is an early American skyscraper designed by architect Cass Gilbert and built in 1913. It is a neo-Gothic style and stands 60 stories tall and for over 100 years has been an important part of the New York skyline.
